Polyfilter

the plant stuff i can coment on as i dont keep plants your best bet is to read the box when you get it it says something about not afecting trace elements

as i know is it does remove black water extracts as at 1st i was spending £20 per week on black water then another £30 every 2 weeks to take it out

yep you can get one sheet and P&P for about £7

i had to afford myself a little chuckle here mate at the irony!

its because polyfilter is seemingly so efficient i wont use it my planted set up, could end up with crystal clear water, but dead plants lol

been reading around on here and other forums, a few peeps saying that it's mostly good for "emergency's" and not needed 24/7 but i think thats just peeps convincing themselves not the spend the £££ which i do understand.

it might not be "needed" 24/7, my fish maybe dont "need" the amount of water changes i do (which i think is above average) but i do it anyway as i believe its beneficial

I'm a little confused as to what material you people are talking about.

I was at Wal-mart the other day and they had this material called "100% premium polyester fiberfill." It was like $2 for a pound of the stuff.

Is that what guys are talking about? If not, can I use that stuff in my filters?

Thanks,

So, would the stuff I saw work or not? I assume it could be safe since it's washable. It is kind of an odd feeling material, though.

I want to find a media that I can add to existing filters. I have several hob's, power heads with filter attachments, and a canister. I thought that this polyester fiberfill could be added to all of them.

The link that shows the polyfilter sheets looks like a great idea. However, I'm unable to order stuff online right now and the LFS in the area does't carry it. I thought that maybe there might be some sort of filler or something I could use instead. Anyone have any ideas?
