Excellent algae eaters are otos (minnimum of 3), SIAMESE algae eaters and flying foxes.
A good, small algae-eating pleco is the bristlenose plec. This is by far the best choice for a small tank - it is neither fragile nor large and will eat your algae effectively. It grows to 5 inches.
Actually, you're wrong on them being commons, they're actually Rhino's.smithrc said:^^ good advicesylvia said:Are you specificaly after a pleco or just any algae-eating bottom dweller?

'Chocolate' plecs as some call them - are actually albino common plecs - and will get WAY too big for a 20gal
A bristlenose is a great idea
