can you tell us some more about the tank and the fish tanny,

how long has the tank been set up?
what size is it?
what test kit are you using and what are the water test results today?

when you say your water is ok, what were the stats? what are the other tank mates. personally i'd do a big water change as dead fish in the tank can also cause infection so would do that just to be on the safe side.

the tank is probably suffering from new tank sydrome, also known as cycling.

if you read the link in my sig 'whats cycling' it will explain it all to you and tell you what action to take to save the rest of your fish.

Yes, and you'll note MW that I laid out this concern on Jan 10th in her first thread, so its been going on for some time without a cycling discussion I believe. ~~wd~~

hadn't seen any previous threads..... loosing battle?

title of thread was "Help" posted by tanny Jan 10 in beginner section

Its possible cycling has just not been on her "radar" but now will begin to move up in importance with the loss of fish.
