Maybe because the OP in question here asked multiple questions on DPs and how many should be kept in what tank with what occupants and numbers and then just ignors everyones advice on the puffers well-being.

Why bother asking for advice if all your going to do is ignore it....i will say no more on this matter but this tank is flawed in its current state just trying to make the OP aware of this but the OP seems to nieve to listen to anyones advice. I say no more.

Hey Daz? How about before you call a person an idiot you make sure you can actually use your space, comma and apostrophe buttons. It makes you sound like an... idiot.

If you aren't going to be positive don't say anything. If you don't think he will listen then... don't give him something to listen to, simple as that! :good:

This is a friendly forum, keep it that way.

When you have spent time helping someone out and then they just go against what they have even said they are going to do its a little annoying. Also for the record never been good at spelling in my life doubt its going to change over night.

The old, nice and helpful forum members started posting less and less as a whole new breed of people started asking questions and ignoring the responses and doing what they wanted anyway.

And nukeonekitty, how do you know Daz has english for a first language? One should be careful of jumping on someone for fairly minor infractions on the written English language over the hyperweb if one cannot be sure of the other persons natural language and possible other factors (such as dyslexia).

And as to only saying positive things, how inept would that be? So you are saying that if someone asks what tank size a red tailed catrfish needs and despite being told they get past 5 feet in captivity buys one for a 55 gallons we can't tell them they are an idiot for buying far too large a fish to go with their neons?

I remember a couple of years ago when this forum got so hung over being super nice to people that CFC as people ignored his replies as they were not viewed as "friendly" despite being completely true and accurate. I for one would rather have a forum that is a little edgier and has the wealth of knowledge that people like him hold than have a cute fluffy forum where no one is wrong and no one fails but success is merely deferred.

There is a way to be edgie and helpful but nice at the same time. People dont have to put things as blunt and rude as i have seen around this place quite often lately.

I put my comments here bluntly becuase of the following:

1) if you go to the oddballs section you will see all the OPs questions where me and other members here have taken our time to help and reply in a 'nice' manor. If the OP then just chuck's it back in our face's because he isn't willing to listen then why bother asking questions in the first place?

2) he seems very nieve and un-willing to listen to the comments. Yes everything in his tank now is probably fine. Its when they start fighting for territory and food when problems will start.

All im trying to do is tell the OP about the forth coming problems which he has presented himself with. He wudnt listen to us when we were being helpful to him so maybe im now trying to get my point across to him in a different manor. Sorry if the comments i have said dont meet your satisfaction.

Regardless, you don't need to call a person an idiot. It shows the limit of your vocabulary, thus making your look ignorant and stupid. I don't care how naive a person seems, you don't need to call them names because if you truly understand the word "naive" then you would realize that the person is just that! (naive-having or showing a lack of experience, judgment, or information) If you are telling me you have NEVER been bull-headed or ignorant then you are just a liar. You learn from your own mistakes; it is a virtue to learn from other's.

Never said i havent made mistakes did i? Just trying to help point him in the right direction like me and other members tried to before his purchase but he didn't listen. Rather beginning to wish i didn't bother commenting on this thread. Whats the point in saying the tank is great when it isn't? Yes it looks nice. But the stocking choice isn't wise. Call me and say what you want this is the point ive been trying to get at the OP all along and now your turning it into a ***** about me and my English and the misuse of one word. Guess you havn't ever said anything like that in a heat of the moment situation

No, I tend not to let any internet interaction become the "heat of the moment"... I am not a tough guy behind the keyboard like some people are. I didn't mean to insult you in any way, shape or form, but it frustrates me when people find it necessary to call people names when having a discussion. If you don't think you are getting across to the original poster then stop trying. Maybe it is hopeless? Nevertheless, I am done beating the dead horse, so to speak. Just try not to insult a person when discussing something.

allright guys and girls.lets just chill a lil.
nice tank, but as others said,u will eventually have problems and will either have a)fish die b)have to move fish and c)have to purchase a larger tank.nice little tank though

For the record Daz the original topic was how do you like the tank! Not, "hows my stocking on the tank?" I added what I stocked in it because people would've asked... yes I did post in odd balls, however you need to realize not to say others do not care for the well being of fish. All you do is ***** and moan at every possible chance. Like betta5 said, if you haven't got anything nice to say than don't say it, all I see on your posts is you saying "oh that's overstocked", or "It's a disaster waiting to happen". From now on how about I put a tag underneathe my threat saying "All are free to view except for Daz CPFC"?? Would that make you feel better? You yourself said it's not like you've never made mistakes, everybody makes mistakes, to error is human... (not to is robot :p) however you need to realize that, like I mentioned, I've prepared for the worst and if it comes to it I'll buy another 5 gallon tank.

Insidentally one of my dwarf puffers looked crappy last night, and this morning I found him half dead gasping for air, so I've isolated him in the 3 gallon, no idea what's the cause but I'm expecting him to be dead soon... My thinking is the guy at that LFS just didn't want the half dead DP so he pawned it off on me

Nukeonekitty, thanks for standing up for me (atleast I think you did ) and thanks for the completments on the tank, same goes to you Sammy86... and betta (of course) for having the good old view of what a true forum should be, Helpful and full of friendly people, unlike I've been seeing on here recently... fishfishfish I agree with what you say too

All Daz was doing was stating the facts and tried to help you prevent what already happened. Your puffer is now half dead gasping for air. You shouldn't really blame it on the LFS for selling the fish to you saying it was already half dead. He was being helpful and friendly until you just decided to laugh everything off and brush it off your shoulder. As for your puffer, I hope he turns out to be okay and if you decide to treat him with salt or just add it in his tank remember he has no scales so take away the amount added into the tank and don't overdose on whichever medicines you're using.

Dwarf puffers are freshwater fish and salt will actually do more harm to it than help... atleast I've been told that... anybody got a second opinion?? :p
