Platys Or Guppies What Do You Prefer ?

I don't know.....the problem with guppies is that they're a weak fish that was once very strong. Go for specific strains that should be healthier fish.
Platys aren't really my thing. They're not very clever I've yet to see any other fish to keep hitting their heads off the tank walls.

I prefer platys. I always ended up with the evil, schooling, roll on everything in your tank, mafia guppies.

Guppies anytime...

I keep Platys and Swortails at the moment until I can source some strong healthy stock, my lfs's only have weak inbread clones atm that just fade away after a couple of months.

Platys are really growing on me though.

My vote goes to Guppies!

Had 4 Platy, 1 male and 3 females. Lost one female after she gave birth (I raised her fry and gave them all away), lost the male and a female after a ph crash in my tank, and gave the other female away. I would not want any more platy, I find them very messy!

Never had guppies, I don't want to get any life bearers atm, but I do find them pretty!

I like platies, guppies are pains in the posterior continually trying to have it off with all the men in thr tank! My lady guppies are nicer but just not as colourful as the platies. However I have a mixture of both in both tanks because they're such colourful and lively fish

7- guppies platies-9 oh dear..... the platy lovers might win this one...

just think how many diff colors guppies come in and when you see all the different colors of fry they have instead of all the one color like if you have red platies you will only get red fry but with guppies the male and the female(s) are forever producing so many different colors

That's not true if you breed a red platy your fry won't all be red. If you breed it with another strain of platy like I did you'll get different ones. I invented dark orange platys with blobs on their tails! Lol.

fair enough but i mean like if you buy all red platies your only gunna get red fry but when you buy guppies they come out all sorts

Surely it can’t be that hard for you to get good Guppies
