What plants would be good for a mbuna tank?

Not many but Java Fern has a good reputation in mbuna tanks.

Mbuna will tend to destroy most plants or at the very least constantly dig them up. Amazon aword is another 1 you could try as they are especially hardy. Be warned though, you could be re-planting on a regular basis.

Hm.. I've got an amazon sword in my 60G tetra community tank, yeah, it's pretty tough.

Java fern and amazon sword.. Hm.. Yeah, I'm gonna get some.

Anubias Nana seems to go well alongside Java ferns.

plants realy aren't necessary in a mbuna tank, but if you want them, you gotta go for sturdy, hardy species cuz of the hard, alkaline water
