well...after seeing my tank being taken over by Hygrophilia, i thought it was time for a bit of a change. Nipped into LFS earlier and they had these 2 big peices of branch with Microsorum pteropus 'Windelov' attatched to it for £6!!!

I got 2 and got thinking how i could chop my Hygrophilia and have a move round as also i found everything was coming into the middle of my tank. So, i took out a few bits and bobs (crypts)

and moved the Swords that were hidden at the back, so i have a sword mix on one side of the tank going into a 'L' shape of Crypts, with the new branches as a center peice, as i didn't have a center peice. With the Lily on the far side (getting quite large)

new pics when the water clears.

Ha, ha, ha! Let the rescaping begin! Looking forward to the updated pictures.

done, it should look better when the Windelov gets going...also, note to self, buy a decent camera.

hi mate.. loving the tank

i have always wanted to scape a corner tank.. I think and island scape would work so well in those shape tanks!

are you able to tell me the name of your echinodorus at the very back. the one with the long stems and the small leaves at the top....

ive been trying to find some like that for ages... i bought a young e.parviflous hoping to get that look but as it has grown, im not so sure it is !

Corner tanks have their challenges, but yes, they are especially suited to Island scapes. Hard to capture the Golden Rule, however, as the tank has a center orientation from the get go.

I like the rescape.

What I want is your background, ianho. That would suit my new scape perfectly. I have to look into a way of duplicating it, on an 8g scale.

thanks guys, i really wasn'y happy with it when i'd done, however, its starting to settle down now.

Nick, sorry i didn't get back to you regarding the plant, it was sold to me as a Echinodorus cordifolius and is doing very well.

llj, one sheet would do your 8g. I'm still thinking about attatching some Rhizome type plants on it.

I know, where did you get it? It came with the tank correct, or did you build it? I don't remember. But, I'm also thinking about attaching it to that divider idea that I had for the moss a while back, to make the background completely removeable. Removeable, yet plantable backgrounds would be interesting, no? Good for maintenance.

it a Juwel background (Granite) bought from here http://www.seapets.co.uk/search/juwel-backgrounds.html?gclid=CIOOqv6FpaICFReX2Aod-l7myg

they are made from polystyrene, so it doesn't stay put that easy, i did silicone it in. Thats a great idea, plantable backgrounds full stop would be a great idea. Having some nice grasses would look great in a tank on a back wall. There is your next challenge, right there!

Yep, I bet I could attach this background to the clear divider that I used using silicone, then it becomes detachable, with the metal hooks from the clear divider. How thick is it? Can I cut it to size? Now, I'm interested.

It would be an interesting thing to do, indeed. But I called it first.

I like "rock" better than "granite" though.

its about an inch think, and yes it is scored on the back so it can be stanley knifed. The ganite does look better now its worn in a bit. At first, i was a bit 'should i', 'shouldn't i' attach it with silicone, cos it would be hard work to remove it. I am glad i have got it in there.

Cool, I'm intrigued. I'll see if I can make it work. Might help to recreate some of the images from the pictures.

just a quick one, the larger peice of wood has been removed. I took it back to LFS as i didn't think it looked right. They swapped it for a smaller bit.
