Well after dithering for ages we've got the next pair in the spawning tank.

The male is Bronzecat's PK Diesel and the girl is my new CT from Shell (btw Shell she looks about ready to pop)!!!!! We're hoping to eventually get a CTPK....fingers crossed.

Diesel was really strutting his stuff infront of her for about 5 mins and then went straight under the poly to start his nest.

This is Diesel.....the big brute

If you're gonna call her petrol you might as well just call her expensive LOL!

Beautiful pair! I love CTPKs ever since I saw them a few months ago. I think the genetics behind a CTPK dictate that you won't get pure CTPKS from a PK and CT until the 3rd generation.

What are you lot like......she's far too pretty to be called any of those names :p :p :p

It will be awhile before we get what we want from them but it's gonna be fun seeing what we get in the meantime :good:

Hello

Yeh, probably be F3's before we get what we want. Depending on the F1's, and which we choose from them, who knows, we may even see the start in the F2's?

Just a quick question - Diesels been in the tank for a couple of hours now, and is going mental :fun: I mean he's head butting the chimney :look: Obviously got no intention to release her for a day or two, maybe more. Being a PK he is far faster and far more agile than Hm's etc...................Has anyone spawned with PK males and if so have you got any tips?

Cheers

ive only ever bred one pk and he was very aggressive towards the female on both spawns, i had heard that they are a bit of a hand full when spawning but who knows until you try them, i would make sure she is extra ready for him just in case

Thats what i am thinking, he looks really mean
I'll put a bit more stuff in the tank than i would normally, silk plants etc.... I think when i do release her, i'll do it first thing in the morning so we can keep an eye on them :good:

thats still better then my paranoia... I will release the female early in the morning and then wait for like 30 mins net in hand fully prepared to beat them apart

I don't think a net will do it Newfishy......more like a shovel for him   But inbetween the headbutting of the chimney, he is building quite a nice nest :good:

Or You could just call her $5.00 or cash. Hehe, gas is sooo expensive. $4.30 a gallon here. :shout:
