I was wondering, can you put snails in the same tank with piranhas? Or would they eat the snails? I know some people said on here that you can put some fish in there with them, but they didn't say anything about snails.

They'd most likely eat them but depending on what species of snails they might breed fast enough that there would always be some.

Ok, what about golden apple snails? Or something similar? What would you recommend that would be the best to put in with them? Or would you put any in there at all?

I thought they'd eat them... although its part of puffers natural diet to trim down their beaks, i thouhgt piranhas would be similar to grab a meal while they can :p

Apple snails: no. They have too much of their body out of their shells and would make an easy treat for a piranha.
You could try some MTS or Nerite snails, the MTS breed very quickly and are tough, wheras the Nerites are tough and hard to eat. they should work.
