Pineconing or are all fish scales like this?

The sides of my betta look textured but I don't know if it's pineconing. In some pictures, it's not noticeable but in the close-ups, you can see a more rough texture on the sides of his body.
I'm pretty new to fish keeping so I'm not sure if all scales look like this...
When his body straightens out you can't see it (first photo).
What do you guys think?

My platy has some rough scales too. I haven’t been overly concerned, just been keeping an eye on her to make sure it doesn’t get worse, but from what I’ve seen I think it’s just some textured scales.
