pic of my tank

Hi stormlord :)

Your tank is lovely, but I think a plastic wallpaper sheet on the back would help a lot. This way the eye would tend to focus on the fish and decor, rather than roam on to check out what's behind the tank.

thanks for the suggestion, your right it does need something back there, what does anything think of a mirror back there, or no?

i tend to prefer the natural look... but its all down to personal preference...

I'd get rid of the greed gravel and go for natural.

Yes the natural look is good, btw your plec is huge! Your angels are very nice too.
I would go with a darker background and maybe a darker substrate sprinkled w/ white gravel. Its all up to how you want it thought, good luck

turn the music off ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

. ... .. . .

that ornament doesnt really fit with the tank... the white comin out of the all green kinda looks weird...

the all green is kinda boring, especially with dark colored fish...

maybe get some light brown rocks if ya can, and id go with a nice light blue background.. maybe move the plant or plants to each side of the tank .... then put that ornament in the middle

:D

I would get rid of the green gravel, and put a backround on. Plus put the ornament in the middle and then plant different kinds of plants all around it.
I read in several places that fish's colors show better with darker gravel, backround, etc.
Good luck!!

nice tank what size is it and your tank would look awsome with black gravel

I vote for the background, black gravel and replant.
Take out the ornament all together (I went for the natural look with my tank in the end with only one dark cave ornament in it and I am much happier with it)
Good luck and post some before and after pics.

thanks for advice, the 2 ornaments are ocean coral thats been laquered, i have many ornaments not in there, a sunken ship, a fake coral cave reef and more, think i'll experiment then post an update

also for anyone that loves fish and ocean stuff, get digital aquarium from www.a-moray.com
they have a dvd thats 54 minutes of great underwater ocean footage showing tons of exatic fish, coral...etc

i use dreamrender from www.dreamrender.com which can be used to creat animated desktop background and also plays video as a desktop, i used my video capture card connected to my dvd player to record it on my hard drive, then select the recording in dreamrender which plays the video as a desktop background....now you have 54 minutes of great underwater footage on your computer desktop instead of those boring wallpapers

Darker natural color gravel could do wonders!
You should make one area of that tank heavily planted so there would be more swimming room at least in the middle and you can add a bit of tall plants to the other side.

I think the green gravel is very beautiful in that tank. Take out the ornament and rearrange the plants.

I think your pleco and angels need a bigger tank, but what you have now is very pretty. I love that pleco; he has a wonderful color. He goes great with the green gravel.

1. take out that ornament
2. put some sort of background behind
3. get natural coloured gravel
4. rearrange the plants. i think heavily planted around the sides and some really brightly coloured plants.

actually i think u should pretty much just start again. love the pleco though :D

but thats just my opinion. ignore me if u want

omigod that pleco is so cool!
