Photo Of The Month?

Whhhhaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too much work for the mods on this one.

i would love to do photo of the month = D

Each month you choose a topic. Like one month have shrimp pics, next month livebearer pics etc... that way there are less entries and you make it easier.

I remember the carnage from when the potm usually sunk in to accusations of cheating and then slanging matches ensued.

Its a mods nightmare delegating such an event each month, having to judge whether the pic submitted is actually the owners or taken from another source on the net.
If you do send in a pic and it is your fish you can get jealous losers accusing the winner of cheating...not a pretty sight.

There has been in certain sections such as the livebearers and betta of comps running for this kind of thing and handled by the members.

ponders on the thought a bit more... maybe if its limited to a certain amount of pics and the mod picks the ones that he/she thinks are the best to vote on and a certain type each month. hmmm....

why does it really matter if people cheat? its a forum, they're not winning prizes from it. if their life is really that sad, let them cheat.

Never underestimate the patheticness of people. Not only that of those who do cheat, but those who (wrongly) accuse others of cheating, those who moan that they/someone else didn't win, people who moan about rigged voting, etc, etc, etc.

I like the pictures section as it is, making a competition out of it will just cause problems and ruin what's already there.
