PetWorld is on my list now

The only big chain I absolutely love is Big Al's.. just cos the quality is awesome, selection is better, and price is cheaper.

But when I can't convince Sarah to drive me to Hamilton, I go to Petland.. I know that's still a chain, but I've never seen another one in my life, so.. it's just small to me. :) They're wayyy more expensive than anyone else, but I also get better, personal service and usually a discount, too.

  WATCH OUT WATCH OUT WALMART THERES BETTAMOMMA ABOUT :flex: :flex: :flex:

YOU GO GET THEM GIRL

The nemo is a ocellaris or true percula. The ocellaris stay orange, while true precual get more black then orange as they mature.

So, in summary, what have we learned? (damn trip last night, I'm sure I was affected by Gibbards 'marujana session' )

1. Always take your camera with you or use bettas as an excuse for a new camera phone.
2. Don't just mention sick bettas, wave them under the employees noses until they do something.
3. Always report to the higher power.
4. Hang around until there are other customers THEN make a fuss, they are more likely to do something.

I REALLY need to go to pets at home next week..... I haven't been for a few weeks, and I want to check on the bettas there..... :sly:

Take a look at Superpet on Fourth Ave in the Walmart Plaza. It's besidw Starbucks if you haven't been there yet. They have some of the cleanest tanks I have ever seen. But you are right about Big Als. I spend most of my time and money there.
:shifty:

I go to every store in the area about once every week.
I've figured out what days each place gets their shipments in so I go in a day or 2 later.

I REALLY REALLY hate it when the store refers to some of their bettas as having come in on a "bad shipment". That really horks me off. NO, it isn't a "Bad shipment", it was either:
1) an irresponsible breeder
2) some idiot in the warehouse or on the truck didn't keep them at the right temp or jumbled them around
3) the store hasn't taken care of them well at ALL since they came into the store

it REALLY riles me up when people who care for animals always try to blame someone else for their irresponsibility and ignorance.

OOH GRR

A word of caution....I know for a fact Wal-mart will get quite rough with you about taking pictures inside their stores (I assume they think you are spying for other stores)...I'd have to asume other stores would as well. I wouldn't get caught doing it, if i were you, unless you are sure they allow it. Better get you a camera phone.

What can they do to me if I'm caught?
My boyfriend is a police officer - I will ask him what they allow around here.
I'm almost at the point where I don't really care anymore - it'd be worth getting kicked out or even getting a ticket. heh heh

I can't see there being any law about not taking photos in shops. Take your b/f along- I'm sure Walmart won't stop a policeman from doing something within the law.....

Yeah - my boyfriend is HUGE, too. He's obsessed with weightlifting - uugh it drives me nuts. BUT I could see this being a BIG ol' benefit to me when I was snapping photos. He's 5'10", 230 lbs.

heh heh heh

Because it is private property and whle on private property they can make whatever rules about their property as they want.

If you don't care, that's your perogative :dunno: ...I was just letting you know that most stores don't and won't put up with it ..if they catch you. I'm not really sure what they'd do, but if you've been in their store causing scenes before..there's no telling (if you've tee'd them off previously) what they might/could do.

I don't think I'd want charges pressed on me for something like that...even if it's a misdemeanor..it still goes on your public record..and if you go to look for a job, and they do a back ground check..it'll show up (if they pressed charges). I don't think I'd want to explain that to a prospect employer.

My boyfriend would kick my butt if I ever got a ticket over some sort of protest or actions I was taking for an animal. He thinks i'm completely nuts the way it is.

Honestly, with employees (or lack thereof) in the fish department at WalMart no one would even notice me. Most of my "scuffles" in WalMarts have either been over the phone or other ways that people don't know who I am.

Oh well - either way they'll get their due justs one day, I'm sure of it.

Unfourtunately I'm doomed to become a bit like you :) No offense. My Mum, her mum and I'm sure all their Mums have been avid fans of complaining. Honestly, we went to a buffet lunch the other day. I wsa getting some ice-cream and there was a woman behind me getting a little bit impaitent for the scoop. I mentioned it to my mum. She would have said 'Got a problem?' and my nan would have taked twice as long..... All I can say is thank goodness very few pet shops over here keep bettas in jars.

I just wanna make it clear that I HATE complainers as much as the next guy - especially when they're just being whiny. I consider myself passionate about things - not a whiny complainer. There's a BIG diff.
I am NOT a habitual complainer - in fact, it takes quite a bit for me to complain about things when they're not just right, if no one is getting hurt or their living conditions aren't compromised in any way. I would probably never complain about a steak being prepared the wrong way - the cow it came from didn't get a chance to complain about being butchered up. I wouldn't go back to a store when I was overcharged a few cents or even a few bucks BUT...
I DO, however NOT stand for mistreatment of anything.
Whether it be things, such as property, babies, kids, adults, old people, ESPECIALLY animals because they have no voice.

I am not a complainer - I just stick up for those who can't stick up for themselves.
Just wanted to clear that up. :D

Ya know - I just read my post here and realized I sounded a bit bitchy in it. That's not how I intended it to come across - but moreso rather to explain why I am the way I am.

There is nothing they can do except ask you to leave. To do anything more they would have to prominantly display a notice forbidding photography in the store. I don't think that will happen because it does not give shoppers that nice comfy feeling. :shifty:
