what is your pet peeves or hates, some terrible experience youve had at a petstore, your fears, your absolute loves, your idiosnycrocy (im going to call it idi because its hard to spell) idi is some little thing you do that seems ssenseless to others such as washing your fork for every individual food item in one meal, looking in your closet before you go to bed,or that lines must be drawn with a ruler. whats yours?
you dont have to answer them all. you can just answer one or 2 or 3... its up to you
thanks

Kind of an OCD thing? Mines tidyness, I pick up every little speck of mess in our house even tho it would be much easier to just get out the hoover.

Hi :hyper:

My pet peeves are when people chew on things (plastic, lighters, pens) stuff that shouldn't be put in your mouth. You don't know where its been or who has touched it with their dirty hands.

Also when people pick their fingernails or toenails, I can't stand it (my boyfriend is notorious for this and he gets the death stare if I catch him.) I think its an anxiety thing though sometimes he doesn't realize hes doing it, still It drives me completely nuts!

I have a hard time letting people help me do anything, I definetaly have some OCD tendencies. I have specific ways I do things and I get really nervous and stressed when I'm watching someone do something wrong, or make it harder than it needs to be. I often have to go back over it when their not looking!

I'm a perfectionist, everything has to be straight and neat(artistic wise).

There is so much more but lastly I'd say I won't touch certain soaps or chance getting deodorant on my hands, I hate the way it feels, its like sticky when you rinse it off not clean feeling lol. Eww! I do make fun at myself afterwards but there are things I can't help "in the heat of the moment".

My pet peeve is people who post identical answers as everyone else only hours after.....seems to be just to increase post count or make them feel like they've contributed in some way.

Don't mind the 'I agree with what 'x' said' just the plagiaristic ones :)

Lol I don't mean to kinda do what you just said but I completely agree with you. I'm always going on about that and how much it bothers me.

My biggest pet peeve is that I absolutely cannot stand it when people look away or turn around when I'm talking to then. If you're going to talk to me, at least pay attention in my general direction.

It annoys me so much that if you look away for longer than a few seconds when talking to me, I will literally stop talking until you look back.

It's just my thing

I cant stop chewing on pencils, pens, etc. really annoys me cause i get a new pencil and 10 minutes later the eraser and metal are gone. :shout:

haahah thanks i think my idi is when people say spawn for guppies platies molly s ect. also my pet peeve is when peolpe have no clue about animals or fish or anything like that like how to take care of them and what they are or .... ugg it just kills me

ooooh lets see.....

i hate when people take care of my animals when i tell them not to, it just gets me way way way to mad for words :shout:

i dont like when you are talking to some one and then you think the conversation is done, you turn the other way and they start talking to you again, and it happens several times. or if you are talking with some one and they cut you off like 5 times becasue you think they are done talking and they are actually not, so then you say like 2 words and they they just keep on talking :S

(no offense to anyone) but it really bothers me when people post on the livebearer forum with question like: when is my [livebearer] going to give birth? .... um when she is 'squared off'.... if you dont know these things, you shouldnt have livebearers . or when people CONSTANTLY post about their fish (livebearer) having batches of fry, yes it is exciting, but it is old news to everyone else, and they are not there in person to enjoy the happiness.

and my #1 pet peeve is when people are like "oh i love my [animal]" and how they love to take care of it, and then you see the animal and it is barely taken care of. or when people get pets on whims, that is when i start STRONGLY disliking people

also, when i got to the petstore and the employees no nothing and the animals are all dying

am i rambling? :look:

ugh and another thing... high school kids who are sooooooooo immature. i deal with it every day and they just dont grow up, dont they? :dunno:

well thats all i can think of for now

To be fair not everyone gets livebearers with breeding in mind, they are a popular, colourful tropical fish and are sold in vast numbers so its a very valid question (albeit asked to much). To say if you don't know the breeding signs you shouldn't keep them is a little out of order. Does that go for every pet? If you don't know they're breeding habits/signs you shouldn't keep them?

Brings me on to one of my pet peeves....people who know a lot about one specific thing and treat others with disdain when they ask questions about it.

People with bad manners, or who are rude for no reason other than they feel they have the right to be. It doesn't cost you anything to be polite! Really gets on my nerves, that does!

Another is people who get animals and don't take the time to educate themselves about how to look after them properly, and the animals suffer as a result >.<

People who are too lazy to train their dogs properly and as such have no control over them on walks.

i can see what you are saying, but livebearers, especialy are going to breed. i mean, it only takes a tiny bit of reasearch of reading of other peoples posts to know when they are going to drop. personally, i dont find out when my guppies are going to drop, i just let them do it whenever and collect the fry. :good:

I AGREE WITH YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!! :hyper:

My thing is blowing into cups or glasses before I will pour my drink into them. I'm scared of dust. It's silly really because in our house we always store out glasses facing downwards so no dust can get in, but I still do it anyway!

My point is they are not sold as 'livebearers' but as platys/swordtails/guppies and the majority of people will be unaware that they breed so readily so the excitement when they do will bring about the questions.

Yes, in an ideal world people would research on their own but that is what forums are, a form of research. Also, many people don't bother to use the search function, especially when caught up in the excitement of their fish being pregnant (or the upset of a fish being ill)

To me it's a bit like being a member here but saying you get bored of people asking questions about fish. If everyone did a bit of research or searched the forum before asking their questions the forum would grind to a halt and merely become a repository of information rather than an active place to interact with like-minded people.

I'm not saying your wrong in any way with your views, just trying to point out the other side to it :)
