Pet Hates

Jeez, Lucy! That's a list and a half. Fully agree with every word you say!

No respect, that's a proper pet peeve of mine, DM. How awful to call your mother that! I hate when I don't get respect from my pupils, it's really sad when they are not taught manners at home.
I never called her it again lol. I love my mom, we just got into it bad that day! I deserved what I got.

Sorry, that was my bad grammar now  And the fact that I'm about to fall asleep, it's late in the UK. I meant how awful of the child to call his mother that. And yes, I also once attempted to call my mother a b.... and couldn't finish the word... Old school upbringing too. Never even dared to think it afterwards.

Just remembered another pet peeve of mine: text speak! Just looking at some FB statuses, I could puke right over them. Use proper words! "cud of" means nothing to me!!!! Right, bedtime :p

My pet hates are bad manners, I was always taught that courtesy costs nothing, a please & thank you go a long way.
Bad grammar, why aren't children these days taught how to construct a proper sentence?
People who walk their dogs off lead along the roads, they think it makes them look good, it doesn't, it's arrogance & stupidity
I don't care how well their dogs are trained, it only takes a second for them to run into the road & cause an accident, & maybe kill someone & their dog

You just reminded me of another one of my peeves. People who let their dogs crap in my yard and don't clean it up. I don't own a dog! I should not step in dog crap when I go in my backyard!!

Some idiot used to deliberately take their dog and let it crap on the school field at my little sister's primary school - some people just have no life!

The kids - bless them, they all made "clean it up" posters with pictures of people cleaning up dog poo

That drives me nuts too.
I've had dogs all my life & always cleaned up after them
I walk a friends dog now & always take pop scoop bags with me & clean up after it.
It's part of being a responsible dog owner/walker.
I even accost people & offer them a bag if I see their dog poop & they make no attempt to clean up, needless to say sometimes I get abuse for it

I don't know... Chav to me is pretty precise :shifty:

This about sums it up :p

WOTEVA.... sorry couldnt resist

alot on these lists i have to agree with, some kids need slapping, although here in the uk you're not allowed to smack children anymore, thankfully my youngest is 12 and im past the screaming toddler stage

We all moan about pet hates, we don't like this and we don't like that,if I don't like something I don't stay, if I can't do that, the problem will go away eventually,...... you have to take life as it comes,
Next time you think about a moan, think about the people who have nothing to eat.....and nowhere to live........

great thread though.........

i think its against the law to walk a dog off lead near to a road, i'm sure its also in the highway code somewhere too

thankfully where i live its rare to see dog mess, most everyone cleans up after thier dog

It is against most bylaws, but gets overlooked unfortunately

This picture cropped up on a post near a 'set aside' field near me. I mean... I live in proper countryside and this set aside field is leaft to grow into a flower meadow and is cut for hay once or twice a year but it has a set footpath right through which, when the grasses are over waist high, is really narrow and letting dogs poop in it is disgusting.

My dog won't poop a/ if anyone is watching b/ anywhere public like a path and c/ within half a bloomin mile of people. She will leg it to the other side of the field and go right in the hedgeline or bang in middle of really long grass away from paths and tracks or right in the middle f the woods (down a rabbit hole if she can find one!).

Can be really annoying if you are in a hurry and need the dog to poop and you have to walk at least two miles and at least twice a day  but ahhh well, means i rarely if ever have to clean up after her!

EDIT: Helps if i actually put the photo in! lol

Good grief, where do I start...

People who don't use their indicators when driving, especially when they can see me waiting to cross a road and then turn off before they reach where I am, so I could have just crossed anyway.
People who call me "mate" when they don't know me. Especially patients at work.
People who pronounce marshmallow as "marshmellow". God, do I hate that. WHY DO PEOPLE DO IT??
People who type "woot". You never hear anyone speaking the word, it only exists as typed, so why use it?
But the one thing that really gets to me, in all its forms, is predictability. I hate it. I hate being able to predict how someone will behave or what they will say or do before it happens. For example, I will be driving along and there will be a chav in a tinny car behind me, with dubstep pumping out of the windows. I think to myself "when I get to Queensway, he's going to roar past me and overtake" and when I'm absolutely correct it pisses me off. It means he's a total stereotype. I don't know why this bothers me so much, but it does.

Oh yes, nearly forgot - motorcyclists who think it's OK to drive in the "motorbike lane", i.e. the white line down the middle of the road. It's all fine until they meet someone coming the other way doing the same thing, and they realise there's a solid line of cars on both sides of them, nowhere to pull in - BAM. We had a death in my town a couple of years ago caused by that exact scenario.

Google Images is a wonderful thing

Chavs - I have nothing against that type of people in person, some are quite nice, but there are some that give them a bad image, these are the sorts of peole you see wearing baseball caps and smashing out the windows of your local bus stop at 1 in the morning... thats what ruins the entire image for me, and (most) are so immature! they may as well be 5 instead of about 15...

please define 'Chav', you seem to be under the impression that this is as precise as calling someone caucasian.

roight, chav... Snapback hats, no manners, cant talk proper english, disruptive, antisocial, ciertain types of clothing (jack wills body warmers), massive glasses, usually smoke even though their only anout 12/14 etc... its hard to pin down, but you know chavvy people when you see them, but as i said, some are nice, some are nasty
