yeah of course but I think that quite fun its like a random game and you'll get to see your betta grow up and change, its like having loads of bettas as you get to experience different colours in one fish

another thing ive notice is giant bettas start to come on the market do they have genetic problems attached to them

Of course (unfortunately). A fish that Mother Nature has designed to measure 3 to 5 cm long tail non included cannot escape genetic experiments unharmed.
