Hi all :)

Ok this basically a concise post of the first 7 months (May 2010) to present . I will update but you will see there are some losses :(
The Nem I bought a few months back split at the beginning of November 10, both though are doing great just smaller :)

As you will see the tank goes through several stages, with algae blooms :(

Anyway, at the moment the tank is as follows

Roma 240 litre
Aquamedic Turboflotor 1000SL
Vecton 600 UV
Fluval 305 External Filter
3 powerheads
300w heater
Twin 150w halides / 2 x 54w T5 blues 4 blue actnics
Hang on Refugium

I did want a sump but the lack of space in the ramo cabinet is a nightmare.

Stock at the moment. I have quite a few frags at the moment, the reason is so I can develop the tank over time rather than just buying colonies and quickly running out of space erm...and money :p

Selection of zoa frags
Mushies
Green stripe Mush
Small hammer
Leather
Toadstool leather
Finger Leather
Yellow and Orange Sun coral
Black Sun Coral
Nems
Other bits and bobs

Prawn goby
Dragon wrasse (Impulse purchase that will be on his way when he grows up a bit)
pair of adolescent black and white clowns
Convict Tang
Foxface
Cleaner shrimp
1 Sexy shrimp that has gone awol
1 Sand sifter starfish
1 red scooter
Hermits
Turbos

Anyway for the first post here the are a lot of pics, basically to bring it up to date. This last week I did a bit of scaping as everything just wasnt stable enough, much better now.

Heres the pics, hope you like the progress, its still early days :)

Thanks for the comments and your welcome :)

I know my little reef is still young and still has a long way to go, just makes me think how it will look next Christmas ;)

All the best

Thanks for the comments :)

Still has a huge way to go yet, if I dont upgrade first. Got a 4 foot sump waiting in the garden :hyper:

looking top banana mate!!!

really impresses with the pics

whats the tall coral red with white polyps? its lovely

Simon

Hey Simon

Its a Red Gorgonian. Unfortunately a couple of months ago Something took a fancy to it and I lost it virtually over night.

Doing a 10% water change today and a general tidy up.

Picked up a Nitrate and Alk reactor which hopefully will be here next week so cant wait to see what difference they make to the water quality.

Looking at buying some mushies from an online store, Nicer examples than I generally see in the lfs, will post a link when I have had my pick

And still need to sort out the back of the tank

Well sold one of the nems and a piece and a rock of xenia's to thin them out a bit.
As It took me 2 hours to remove the nem from the rock it was attached to  I ended up doing a bit of scaping.

My sun coral is attached to various mussel shels and has been growing quite nicely over the past few months. One of the shells had started to come apart so I split it and relocated .

Some new zoa and mushies being dispatched next Monday so pics of those soon.

Will put up a new fts of the scape later but there isn't a huge difference to be honest, just more caves and nooks and crannies :)

I also have one baby sun on a shell of its own, I moved away from the main colony so I can observe the growth rate better. It is about 0.5mm and is a #28### to photograph but will see if I can get a pic :)
