would this be ideal/recommended for taking them from the lfs? (about a 20 min drive)

I don't think glass cats is talking about the oxygen tablets you put in bags to transport fish, there is another type of "tablet", it is cylinder shaped, and is suppost to be used in "goldfish bowls" and such, but I found that they would bubble for a few minutes and then do nothing, plus they were 2 for $3, a waste of money IMO.

You wouldn't need oxygen tablets for short rides. They are used for when you are shipping fish over long distances, where the fish could actually use all the oxygen in the bag before they get to their destination.
