I currently have 2 juvenille angelfish, 7 false juliee corys, and 11 panda cories, and a few (about 8) yellow shrimp.

I rehomed a couple fish per others advise (the bristlenose and rainbow shark) and ended up adding to the corys school.

According to Reference to very iffy fish-advice site removed (i know, lol) Im at 106% using the angelfishes adult sizes for obvious reasons. I have an aquaclear 110 HOB filter, aquaclear 30 powerhead (175 gph) with the attaching extra filter, plus I am mod-heavy planted with jungles of vals, swords, etc.. with high lighting T5HO bulbs, macro and micro ferts so they are growing fast.

Is 106% overstocked? I'm not worried about the filtration capacity because thats good (462% without adding in the plants). Just want to make sure my fish arent crowded. If im not overstocked, can I add a group of schooling fish to "fill up" the upper level without stressing the angels? Thanks

Edit: Opps, BTW its my 45 gallon (36L x 12W x 24H; 2-3 inches substrate)

i wouldnt say overstocked, but with the angelfish(which BTW are they a pair?) that fills up the tank alot. Reference to the same iffy site removed leaves alot of things out and really shouldnt be trusted.

Well I got them together when they were dime sized, and they havent left each others side yet so Im thinking they are. Its my first time with angelfish so I dont know if thats what it means while they are so young. I heard not to trust that site but havent really heard why except the answer you gave. I'm fine with only having the two angels, they are so funny at feeding time when they see the cup lol

Angelfish become sexually mature about 6-8 months of age depending on their health/diet etc. The only way you will know if you have a pair is if they mate - just prior to spawning their papillae drops (genitals to some degree) and you can then sex them depending on it's shape. There is a possibility they could turn nasty towards each other, they could remain perfectly content and not a breeding pair. Just have to wait and see.

I don't want to breed them - I have to much studying and clinicals to worry about baby fish, care, the extra water changes, rehoming, etc.. :(

well in order to keep two angels they need to be a pair or  possibly two females, two males will fight to the death.

While technically your stock is okay, your main issue is the crowding along the lower section of your tank. That's a lot of fish for one level. I would recommend choosing one of those schools of corydoras, rehoming the other, and then perhaps getting a school of mid level fish.

no idea but miss 08 ,come to the uk for a drink with me :)

lol toastie - sorry, Im pretty much married to my fish/plants, and then my husband

and thanks for the info guppy. Ill keep my eye on them. I was worried about the crowding along the bottom, but my cories seem to love it. They all - and I mean all - school together all day when the lights are on, swimming up and down the glass and in between the jungle of vals and swords, they even take turns riding the powerhead current lol I swear I saw a panda trying to mate with a juliee. Had to go over there and tell them to knock it off lmao none of that in my tank!

Lol inappropriate.

On another note - two males might actually not fight, depends on the personality of the fish, it's likely but it's not 100% guaranteed.
