I went to the Pet Supermarket and bought a few new fish and the worker warned me not to overstock my 10 gallon tank. I'm not sure if my tank is full or still big enough for more additions!
I have:
1x Green/Bronze Cory Cat
1x Skunk Cory Cat
1x Albino Cory Cat
1x Male Halfmoon Double-Tail Betta
5x Neon Tetra
2x Assassin Snail

Note: I do have plants!

I wouldn't say it's overstocked

BUT

The groupings aren't right. Cories are shoaling fish and need to be in groups of their type (6+) I'd suggest rehoming them and sticking to the betta, tetras and assassin snails. You could even get 3 or 4 more tetras as they like to be in large groups too.

Really? It looks to me like the cores are sticking together even though they look different  if I did take the cories out how many other fish could I get? Suggestions?

Yes, I think your tank is a little over the top. I would upgrade it to a 20 gallon. OR even better, a 30. 30 might seem too big, but at least upgrade to a 20. Get some more cories. They should to be in groups of 6+
Other than that, you're good. :good:

How exactly do you know when a tank is overstocked? :/

One inch of fish per gallon. AND of course, thats not always the case. Don't always follow the "one inch per gallon" rule. If you do, it'll be hard on your tank. Over crowding it means it's harder to keep clean. So I reccomend a 30 gallon for all the fish (need more cories). Other people say it's fine, but that's just me: I say it's overstocked. 20 gallon will be fine, but 30 is better. :)

OK! :) thanks for your input and I'm going to work on upgrading :good:

You're probably going to run into trouble with that skunk loach; a very, very aggressive fish :/

Apparently so, I've never kept them myself, but I know people who have and they just kill things

Oooh, skunk cory

I haven't had my second cup of coffee yet

I did wonder. :D

Skunk Loaches DO look nice though, shame their behaviour taints them a little.

I think the cory things depends on your fishies tbh, we hae 3 peppered and 3 albino/gold corys - they have a whale of a time all together :)
