Overflow for sump

Hello, I’m having trouble on the overflow system for a future sump setup, I’m trying to pick one that is minimal sound but I have no experience with sumps. I’m also aware that it has to have a certain Littes per hour to decide on the pump. Ive seen Sherpa design use a street elbow as a DIY overflow. Would this be sufficient for a 753 litres tank (199 gallons). Thank you!

What kind of overflow system will you be looking at? Hopefully a Herbie? I would stay away from Durso with a tank that size.

I’m not sure, as I don’t really have experience. Would a Herbie system be the best?

If you are getting the tank custom made, have the glass company drill 2 holes in the back glass, one in each top corner. One hole should be bigger than the other. The bigger hole is used for draining water out of the tank and the smaller hole is used for the return.

You can connect pvc pipe fittings to the holes and use one as an overflow and the other as a return.

Have the holes a few inches in from the corners. A tank maker should be able to do this easily enough. They just get the holes drilled in the glass when they order the glass.
