Yesterday, Mr Trod and I spent trying to put RO unit in, OMG why is nothing simple :rolleyes: anyway we eventually got it in, did the first flush of the filters, brilliant no trouble, then we go to running the unit in production mode to run off the first 5g as stated, and drip, drip, drip, drip drip, manged to get about 5L in 12 hours :shout: pressure gauge is on zero, so got to get a pump, can't find what I need, can some kind person give me a link, as I haven't got a lot of hair left to pull out :no: and I'm very quickly losing what little sanity I had :blush:

OK panic over all sorted, unfortunately our washing machine isn't connected to our mains feed, so we have had to relocate the unit to under sink. Touch wood and whistle, its working well now at 38psi.

Regarding the RO membrane and how often you change it. I have had my unit for over a year and never changed anything in it. I have an inline TDS meter and will only bother changing anything once the output TDS starts going up (it has only recent started to occasionally flick to 1ppm).

For the booster pump you probably want something like this:

or

You would be better getting one rated for continuous use as some of them can only be used for 10-20 minutes at a time.

Edit: Beat me too it :) glad its working now.

:yahoo: Look what I got :drool: just starting to come out

Yes, I'm trying it in different places, had it in front of tank to start with in good flow and it didn't come out at all :unsure: so moved it to slightly darker place but less flow and its poking its heads out a bit, I'll wait and see, if doesn't come out a lot I will move it further forward a bit, or move powerhead :good:

they like pretty good flow i belive, then they really do open up

I second that Ben; mine was not coming out then after a little help from Big C I moved it to an area with more flow and it came out within minutes. I have also found that if you feed it to much it does not come out {Inow only feed twice a week pop bottle method}

I have tried feeding but it's not interested yet :crazy:
