Operation Marine...

Could also be a pistol shrimp or a hermit knocking his shell against the glass :good:

Now i did get a electric blue hermit crab as a hitch hiker but it hasnt bee out from the rock since the rescape so doubt it is him but could be.

I'll still set a trap as i think there is a nasty crab in there anyway

I have a quick question, obvioulsy i have sand in my tank but it doesnt cover any of the grid i have my rocks on.

Should i cover those smaller areas with sand or leave it for coraline to cover over? It looks very artificial with no sand going right to the edge of the rock.

That's an aesthetic choice for you, either would be fine :)

Clicking can also be hermits fighting

Gonna cover it up later before i go to work.

Well the trap caught a few things, they look like woodlice/tiny shrimp?

Nothing of any reasonable size. Baited the trap with a prawn.

They have been returned from whence they came and trap reset. I can see something moving in a hole in a rock so trap is set near that tonight whilst i am at work.

Trap has caught nothing of note last few nights, i'm sure there is a nasty crab in there though. Thought the click/tapping could be a pistol shrimp but as yet i am unable to confirm or deny that.

Waiting on coral culture for my test kits so i have no idea what state my water is at :( and i go away next weds to vegas for my wedding for a week.

:yahoo: enjoy your wedding and don't forget we want photos of both the tank and the wedding :snap:

Oh and Congratulations

Thanks for pointing me here from trucks.
See, mine don't look anything like that or the other picture you posted. I have a problem with scale aswell, these things I have a really tiny and my Fuji S9500 in super macro cannot focus on them to get a picture. My fuji will pretty much focus on anything this is how small they are. Thing is that they have waving tentacles which makes me think anemone so am really confused.

Ok got my salifert test kits now just tested the tank.

PH 8.3 :)
Ammonia - Test solution was cloudy but no colour to it so 0?:confused:
Nitrite - 0 :good:
Nitrate - 50ppm - shows that has been nitrite to be this high so kinda good
Phos (D-D merck kit) Off scale :annoyed:

I have a reactor for phos but nothing to run it with like an external, so added some phos remover to media chamber in my MCE600

Now where do i stand in terms of the cycle, obviously if you agree my ammonia is 0 then thats good as it matches my nitrite but nitrate is a problem.
