one-eyed betta in the netherlands

Once again you have shown that "One person can make a difference." That little guy would never have found a home if it were not for you. Well done. :)

Well done to bettamomma and erised, that fish is one lucky little fish.

I must give credit where credit is due.
50,000 tears IM'd me one day and told me of this fish - so if it weren't for her, I'd not have found him.

If things go the way we hope they'll go and I do get him or her, I'll definatly keep you all updated :) I dont post a lot though, so it won't be daily updates :p Then again, I don't think anyway would have something new to tell everyday ... For now, lets see if the seller agrees to it all first :)

Well, it turns out little Willy will be going to his owner's neighbor's house.

I can't say as if I blame her for wanting to go that route over us.

One VERY ironic thing is that I had chosen the name Willy for him (from the Goonies - One Eyed Willy) and the new owner also chose the name Willy (after Free Willy)...

So at least he got the name I was hoping he would have.
:)

Don't you just love happy endings? :)

i understand what the breeder is getting at, she cant brred him because the eyeless thing might be genetic (even thogh its probably due to an accident). rather than cull it thogh, she should have tried to find it a home, she wouldn't have too much trouble, she knows betta people -_-

ty Erised for adopting the poor fish, you saved his life

I wish I did :)

Yesterday a person called "Sphere" posted on the original forum, saying he has taken in Willy. He lived 10 mins away from here, where I was 2 and a half hours away ... so it's better for the little thing. I'm sure he'll be looked after properly anyway.

Hi all,

I just came back from a bussiness trip from Italy and I was happy to hear this fish found a nice place.

However I was really really shocked and dissapointed to read all the wishes and accusations some of you posted to the breeder. It is so easy to judge about others when you don't know him/her or how they keep their fish.
I do know the breeder of this fish and know she is an excellent breeder and taking care of her fish very well.

Further it is very difficult to import or export fish to the Netherlands in contrary to what some of you posted here. And if it is done the risk of the fish not making it is very high. I can fully understand the breeder did not do this.

Joep
