liberate" abused fish with a team of elite guerrilla commandos

That is class Pica   where do i sign up......

In all seriousness, I do believe we have all made a difference. We are rarely having to 'educate' sellers on ebay any more and I haven't seen a dyed fish in a lfs for a very long time now - but, be vigilant - just when we think we have won............... some bloke (sorry being sexist) comes along who thinks he can make a quick profit :big_boss: and it starts all over again........

:fish:

Ok, i found another shop with these fish in, these are terrible, painted with stripes, (pink green red)
their lips are painted red, i informed the owners of what has been done to the fish, they said they didn't care. apparently they sell fro 18 quid a go. what can be done?

take you money to someone else!!!!

That hit's them the hardest.....

i have seen dyed fish at my local fish store. not sure the name of the fish but it had a brite redish-orange square printed on his body, i was disgusted by this, although it did look interest i will say this.

Personally I did not find the approach some of you took to be educational at ALL!

It was an attack on the individual selling these fish. I too am in agreement that it is cruel to die any animal for whatever reason.

I used to see these fish and wondered how in the world do you get a pink or a green fish like that????

It wasn't until I educated myself that I found out the process ...........so if you are going to educate people then I would think another approach would be the ideal way to go. All you guys did was piss him/her off. It did absolutely nothing other than cause this person a bit of grief. Those fish still exist and what happens to them now?

Don't confuse badgering and personal attacks as an educational experience. I would put more time into changing the laws and badgering the people in charge of animal welfare and this type of cruelty than a person who simply might not have known........ Being an animal lover myself , I was never aware of how these fish came to be.

Now don't go swearing and attacking me for having an opinion since as u've stated it is our Right as citizens to have one...yeh? :hyper: Just next time use a different approach and see if it helps the situation and the animal involved as I do not think those attacks accomplished anything but anger and hostility.

We gave him links and explained how is that not educational?!How is it an attack?

We probably did, but as helterskelter said on the first page, the guys attitude was not good, he didn't even mention anything about them being dyed.

Each time we explained about dying, why you shouldn't do it etc... :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Your asking for an argument.Who gives you the right to tell me, or someone else what to do?!

Well you hit the nail on the head.......what gives u the same right to tell him what to do? None whatsoever!

Obviously u feel u are the only person eligible to give advice or comment? The tactics used were not educational at all it was merely an attempt to wind the guy up and most of you admitted you so thoroughly enjoyed doing.

I saw nothing that would suggest that it was an educational experience for anyone involved, the seller or the people on this forum. Thats all I have to say about the matter , as far as an argument it is so obvious you flourish in this type of environment by posting such an accusation. My comments were just and truthful , there were2 people in the post that actually offered legitimate advice or argument on the whole situation.

Because he was selling dyed fish and this is all what this thread is about, if you a
hadn't noticed...To prevent the selling of dyed fish.Is what I was saying inhumane-no.
Wait, looking from your perspective, you must be just as 'bad' as me in your mind because you were telling me/others what to do, and I was telling him not to sell dyed fish, I only said 'Do not sell dyed fish, it is cruel, inhumane and illegal!' (something like that) because of the guys very apparent ignorent attitude towards dyed fish.

How was it not educational?Who admitted? As I said before read it, but this time register the information in your brain!People were asking how to write a well constructed letter and providing information and reasons why it is not good to sell them.

You are twisting the truth...

I couldn't care less what people over the internet think about me but your just annoying.
'obvious you flourish in this type of environment by posting such an accusation.'
WT.?!

Ladies, ladies, calm it down.

Yes, these fish are dyed.
Yes, it is wrong.

Lets leave it at that, yeah? :good:

LOL Esfa I'm a lady named Tim

I do agree that it shouldn't be done however I do not agree with bullying tactics to get a point across.

I think a well written letter of concerns and outlined in such a way that does not come across as an attack would be a superb idea. I do not think that Ebay would condone such behaviour, as members we are bound by their Terms of Conditions which also would include this behaviour if they were alerted. I don't think I want to risk losing 4 years of feedback on my account trying to get a point across.

We should get a petition together and send it to the appropriate person/persons that govern the import of such fish and then they would not be allowed to sell them on Ebay full stop. Until this happens I am afraid there is not much that any person can do regardless of how we feel about the sell of these animals. Does anyone know who to contact concerning such an argument? I would think that would be the best course of action! I would be more than happy to sign, as I am sure others on here would be.

I agree that there are quite a few problems on this forum. I can say I have caused a few, too.

But when you get a group of people together, some people will clash. Nothing you can do about it.

Best thing to do is just click the X and go eat something.
