Omg Cory Eggs!

The snails poop a lot. I put a few in the beginning with my cory fry as a clean up crew but the ammount of snail poop was unreal. I still have hitchiker snails from time to time that somehow find their way into the box but I remove them.

Baby Nomo, 3 and a half days old. He's still absolutely tiny, probably about 3mm at the most. I like this photo because I can see more detail than my eyes can.

I've never had a pet before where the mere fact that they're still alive is an accomplishment

Yes, it is. There are a few other species of cory which look very similar (mainly corydoras julii), and the trilineatus are often missold as julii.

As a newcomer, can anyone advise me to which corys people keep and why. Do you keep them in small groups. Do they need a different feed other than flake. All advice gratefully accepted

Most cories are suitable to a beginner. They like to be kept in groups of at least 6 but the more the merrier. Flake is fine but if you have top or mid dwelling fish you may need to use sinking foods to make sure that the cories get a look in.

Hikari makes a mini sinking pellet that mine love. That's their treat and they go crazy for it! And, it's made specifically for them.

Omega One has a veggie wafer too that mine go crazy for. Then you can rotate the protein and veggies

How's the baby?

He's still going. Couldn't find him this morning and was worried he was dead (I can only really spot him when he's moving) but after a while I found him again.

My Hikari First Bites came today, so gonna start feeding him that now.

He'll be just fine. I don't know when they pass the critical age of dying but my little cory is doing well still from what I can tell.

I am so excited. The last time I noticed eggs in the tank was only because the guppies were strangly bunched up around some leaves fighting each other....eating the freshly layed cory eggs.
My corys are so smart little things. They have layed the eggs this time on the hydor koralia powerhead where the guppies can't get them due to the flow. I just moved them into a net next to the powerhead so here is hoping

Just spent a full on nine minutes searching for him, I was so convinced he'd died. Got a few snails in there and I was worried that if he had died they'd have eaten the body. Was so relieved when I found him!

Hoping to get time on Sunday to attempt a water change and cleanup of his tank. Gonna try to catch him to avoid accidentally sucking him up, might be an interesting experience. I'm guessing a pipette might be easier than a net, though I might need to cut the bottom off to make the hole bigger.
