You dont own a turtle, you own a terrepin :p

Daft people giving creatures daft names. (EDIT: i dont mean you personally, just whoever names them turtles like... 'map turtles' etc when they arent)

Tortoises = land dwelling
Terrepins = Live in water, bask and lay eggs on land (so pretty much most of the pet species!)
Turtles = fully aquatic and only leave water once a year? to lay eggs.... and very awkwardly.

That aside....

I don't think I bother wasting my time cooking a roast dinner for my fish again :no:

:lol:

Although... saying that.... my arrowana did like a bit of plain roasted chicken sometimes :fun:

This is why I called her a turtle. They say it's an European Pond Turtle, although it is also mentioned as Terrapin. Mine only feeds in the water and then leaves to roam the house. She sometimes basks at the door of my balcony when the sun is there. If not, she will just hide somewhere dark and cold.

Also, it seems like it's called Terrapin in the UK mostly.

I used raw garlic chopped up into bits and mixed in with frozen foods to feed all my fish, though mainly for all the cichlids and snakeheads and gobies sakes. :good:

Hmm, I wonder if it truly has any benefits.
Few days ago, before losing 2 fry, I saw my male swordie and another fry pooping something short and white, looking just like thread. They haven't done it since then, but I'm a bit worried, so I'd feed them garlic if it would prevent parasites.

Though if it happens again (when I'm not feeding daphnia), I might have to search for that met-whatever antibiotic.
