Ode Unto The Dear Goldfish

I only remember keeping goldfish at age 5, then around 10-12 as feeders for my turtle. In all honesty, the goldies didn't really get me interested in aquaria. But, they gave me some experience I needed.
I consider my starter fish to be Bruce (see avatar).

Awww that was lovely I nearly cried! (sure the pregnancy hormones have at least a small part to play though LOL)

I've never kept goldfish - but my first ever encounter with fish was Koi in Tropical World in Leeds (the big tank as you go in) and I decided aged 18 months that fish say moo, and then a couple of years later apparently caught a friend of my mum's goldfish out of it's bowl and put it in the salted peanuts dish (with water!), having already transferred the salted peanuts into the goldfish bowl! I have no idea whether the fish survived lol, although I hope so!

I've done worse, when I was 5-6 my father put a fish down the loo but it didn't go down, (was alive still) so I put him under my pillow :L

Got some koi in the shop that like to jump at the customers lol not good when you've just wrestled a good foot long koi into the koi net and are waiting for the poly box that the fish decides to make a bid for freedom lol.

I actually had someone pick out which neons they wanted today

Just out of interest... which LFS do you work at, im not too far from Halifax :)

my old goldie has come through every disease on the planet and only had half an eye left =[ he had lost his gold colour, i thought he was going to pass, but surely 17 years on he was still going!

he died 2 weeks ago =[

Awww, sorry to hear that. :shout:

Nice pix and fish mixmaster jay. :good:

Lovely story you have ^^ Kinda sad but meh :p

The only goldfish I can remember having, are the ones we had in our outside pond. Never really saw them much, always hiding, but when we moved to NZ and my sister took them to be in her pond apparently they were huge lol!
