Ocean Rock?

Lately i have been asking lots of questions. Some of you may find it annoying but i am trying to get some good info b4 i start my own SW tank.

What is ocean rock?
Does it surve a purpose?
Is it any good in a marine tank?

Ocean rock is just dead live rock and is also known as base rock as far as I know. It will become live again given time and some live rock to seed it.

What some people refer to as "ocean rock" is not LR at all, but rather solid limestone. Base rock is dead LR that is very porous. Not to be confused with solid stone

Yer dead LR is usually called "Reef Bones" and is brought to the table by caribsea.

The one im thinking of looks more like limestone than dead LR. Could it be used in a FO marine tank?

It CAN, but only expect it to be useful for its aquascaping value. Limestone has little to no ability to filter water
