OK this has been bugging me for sometime now. :grr:

When people start a thread and ask questions, other members spend time replying, giving advice and generally try to help with their question, but I have noticed more and more often once these questions have been answered the original poster doesn't bother to come back and say thank you. Is this just me it annoys  I would have thought it would just be polite to acknowledge the reply.
Sorry Rant over :look:

another is when you reply along with a couple of other's and they get thanks and not your self, even if u was the first!!!!!!!

Thanks for pointing that out Trod, glad it's not only me who feels that way!

Yea.... it happens,... I think everybody posting a question, goes back into the thread about 5 times, and if there is no reply, they just assume that it was a *&%??/... question, & then they log off.... 3 days later, when they log on again, the topic is "archived", and as it is no longer "current",... they just ask their next question.... (not using "my assistant" to check their last 10 posts???.... I make a point of it to check them, and acknowledge even those I do not agree with, or misunderstood my question...... Courtesy....

hi got to agree up to a point
But some people are on a diffrent time on here,so if they are on one minute and off to bed by the time they get a reply.
or they may put some thing on then go to work.
im not sticking up for them .as ther are quite afew that dont reply or say thanks to the wrong person :hyper:
but thats life.
supose its good to have a rant and rave every now and again lol

eric :good:

Be altruistic that is the nature of forums just accept that there thanks is implied if not said. It annoys me when people repetitively say thanks.

What bothers me more than that is when someone asks a question and a well thought out answer is written, then the OP comes back and says "Bump" or "Anyone else?" without even acknowledging the person who responded to them. I saw this just the other day in some thread in TCC and it was very rude.

I agree, espeially with wuv and truck. If you aren't going to heed the advice, then why ask in the first place. No one here has anything to gain by giving bad advice intentionally.

Unfortunately, we live in a world that is becoming more rude every day. We all like a pat on the back now and again and when you give advice it would be nice. Like most everything else, I think it all goes back to how you were raised. I was raised to always say "please" and "thank you" but so many today aren't. You only have to look around when you're out and you see it all the time. I once read that you can tell a lot about the character of a person by simply watching how they treat a waiter or waitress, especially one that may be having a bad day. It's very true, just watch the next time you're out. And if you're the one giving the wait staff all the grief, then, you could be part of the problem.

Crikey!

Was thinking of having a rant myself on this very subject.

1) answering a question which is not acknowledged by the OP.

2) watching other's being thanked and not even getting a mention

3) having your answer just repeated with no additional content. (guess I've just done that! )

I always give my input and dont get the attention, lol, the other posters do...but i have seen this happen a few times

in regards to the time differences, its not that we want to see a reply within 10 seconds of our answer, but days will go by without anything new
