Hello Everybody!
I want to thank you all for insperation and direction!

And I need to ask an opinion about this.....
http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_det...030044&Ne=2

this air pump suctions to the bottom of the tank and blows Blue bubbles

It is neat..... but it sounds like a jet ski when I put my ear to the tank. I don't think I would like it if I lived in there.

So, I think it will be returned.

What type of aerator do you like?
I have a tetra pump for a 40 gal tank, plus the hydor rated at 80 gal. that I'll replace, maybe another tetra wisper pump and more air stones, (Like a 5" round?)

I have a Magnun 350 filter with act. carbon, and 25% to 35% zeolite, the media gets changed every 3 weeks.

Should this run through the under gravel filter (it is right now) Or should I use a drop tube to a strainer?

At what depth should it be?

I have done 20% water changes two or three times a month, tank cycled for 1 month prior to fishes coming home.

I have a 3' x 3' quarter round tank that is 2' deep. 90 gal.

4 gouramies
4 black tetras
2 red tetras
3 mollies
and a spotted plecostomus (?sp?)

I also found this on e-bay.... a 15 led submersible light ..... ebay # 140029865343 shipped for less than $30.

looks cool..... What do you think?

Thank You! Thank You! And Thank You Again!

Adam

Ok...
I pulled the filter out of the under gravel tube, and replaced the hydor noise maker, with a tetra wisper pump.

I think the fishes are happier.

what water testers does everyone use?
:hyper:
:fun:

The distinctive assembling, the design and the innovative technical solutions used for guarantee incredible quietness, unparalleled by traditional external air pumps that have vibration problems.

Thats from the description from the product page of your pump. I guess it is not true... The colored bubbles look nice though, maybe you can use the unit for the lighting only and push air into the airtube with an external airpump.

Hello! :)

I considered doing just that... (Pushing air in, and using the light ) but the unit is wired together... inside the water tight housing.

Oh well.
PetSmart accepted the return, No problem..... And I replaced it with the Tetra wisper 60, Very Quiet now.

now both the 60, and a 40 are going to four different areas ... a bubble wall, a 5" round stone, (pretty neat) and 2 normal air stones inside decorations for the nice rolling bubbles out of some holes I drilled.

The E-bay Moon Light works great too!

My fish appear happier now! :good:
Thank you!

I too had the Hydor Ario colour. The noisiest air pump i have ever heard considering every site selling the item describes it as low noise. Replacing it with a Rena air 400 for my 240l tank, connected to one of them round/disc air stones... should do the job. Looking everywhere for one of those submersible blue lights though, used to be on ebay... aint seen none for a while! doh...
