Nitrate Filters

Ro water isnt an option as no shop does it near me and i dont have an ro unit how often to i replace the nitrate filter media?

Thanks alot btw aqua u have helped alot

Depends on the product, have a Google on nitrazorb, it's a pouch that can be recharged a few times before replacing and one I've used before with some effect. It should throw up some others as well to look into.

If you calculate how much things like nitrate extractors or nitrate filters are going to cost over a year it may be worth looking at getting your own RO unit, but only you can work that out :)

If i get the nitrazorb from the pet shop near me it will cost me 33 pound every 2 months:s il look into an ro unit i think

There's no real cheap way to reduce nitrates but a half decent RO unit (something like a 50gpd) will set you back about £90 and just runs off the mains. That will at least solve the problem of putting nitrates into the tank with every water change. There is obviously running costs for RO units with new membranes, etc. but nothing drastic.

Ro unit defo looks the cheapest option il talk gf into getting me one for christmas lol
