I've just seen a 6x2x2 fish tank for sale with a four light hood and 2 fluval filters, with satnad for £150 ... why, oh why, is payday 3 weeks away :'(

Because you get payed like I do but dont save for a rainy day :p

Overdraught .. already got £1600
Credit ... they took my cards away
Hmmm ... is selling your body REALLY so wrong?!

lol j/k

... I think -_-

Dont touch it, the seller is having a laugh expecting that much for a second hand tank, you can pick them up brand new for £200 and you wouldnt want fluvals on a tank that size anyway, a couple of eheim classic 2217's would do a much better job.

Yea maybe tell him you are really interested and maybe pay a bit extra for him to keep it till pay day???

just say "KEEP IT OR DIE" jk dont do that u cant have fish in prison.

hrm...............borrow money and b/f u buy it check it out. this deal sounds a little fishie hehe (never again) lol

but if its a good deal...........GET IT

Well my wife and I bought a 1 year-old, 180 US gal w/ two Fluval 404s, stand, lights, hood, 20+ fish and much more for the bargain basement price of $500. The previous owners of our home were moving cross-country and couldn't afford the expense and hassle of moving everything. And eBay will show that guys are getting around $800-$1000 for 100-150 US gal tanks and stands--no fish. SO if when you say 6x2x2 you mean 180 US gal (those dimensions are the dimensions of our tank), and the tank isn't too old or in poor condition, then 150 brit pounds seems a good deal to me.

even with stand, hood and 4 lights?

I got quoted about £150 for a 4ft by 2ft by 15 inch tank new on its own.
No sorry the £200 is for just a basic glass box, no lids of any kind and no stand.

Personally id never buy such a large tank second hand, the 5 years manufactorers guarentee is worth the little extra should something terrible happen, once the volume gets into 3 figures thats a lot of water to be soaking up off the carpet!

Yep, you can get clearseal 6x2x2 tanks for £195. Stands can be pretty cheap too, or get a nice cabinet one for £200 - £300.

But Clearseal tanks are very badly made and I wouldnt get one of that size.

If its a good tank and it's solidly built I'd go for it, sounds like a good price for me!
