Hi all you super clever fishy people (virtually bowing down),
We have had a cold-water tank for yrs... 11yo carp-like-thing (blind, was gold but turned white).. uprgraded to a larger tank (4ft) and adopted a whole host of tropical things (bid on the tank on eBay and the fish were gonna be flushed, so couldn't say no). The adopted tropicals now live in the old tank (2.5ft).
So, the large cold-water tank houses our old blind boy (or girl, never did get the sexing thing) and his two (not so) little (anymore) friends, plus the Rosie Barb that came with the tropicals -- web searches lead me to believe perhaps he (pink) would be happier in the cold-water tank. We bought him three Rosie (two admittedly more orangey/female barbs) for company... so a cold-water tank with three large fish and four iccle barbs... all peaceful and harmonious...
Soooo, the tropical tank, (2.5ft of mayhem - super perfect water quality mayhem I might add) a load of breeding plecs, a catfish, a bristlenose, albino plecs, small large, medium, tiny... and Fairy Cichlids, oh boy, started with a few of these, now have oh, a million maybe!!! Two breeding pairs, and many, MANY babies later! Beautiful as they are, do they ever stop breeding??!! ... and picking on the poor plecs, species only tank I say! so, it seems I need three tanks now! Harrumpphhh!
Bought a lovely Eheim 3.5ft tank to move the trops (sorry, only been here 5mins and already abbreviating!) to. Managed to become infesteated with snails (AGAIN!) somewhere along the way... oh blooming heck sometimes I wish I wasn't vegetarian and cared so much about EVERY little individual life... *sigh* ...filter cleaning nightmare!
Anyway, hi to all..
) that's weird, he is meant to be a smilie face, not whistle blowing lunatic?!
