Nah not in my experience i kept and bred Flowerhorns in tanks with GT, Texas, Salvini, Jag, Vieja etc over a space of years, Flowerhorns can be mixed like any other CA, if they are kept alone in a small tank they become nasty as hell.

Even so it was the Biffa that instigated the fight, it was at night time, then in the morning the Flowerhorn was dead with missing eyes.

The Biffa would be the main trouble starter in the tank, harassing everything once he hit around 10", he got worse with age, i gave it away to the lfs in the end, and everything else was fine.

Flowerhorns, Trimacs, Midas and Red Devils have bad reps...pretty much anything with Amphilophus blood, if they are housed in a tank big enough, they will mix with anything large enough.

Agree on the bit about amphilophus species, i have some smaller lyonsi with other fish and they're fine. had midas and they also got on well with other fish.

Sorrythe pics are of the same fish the other is much smaller at around six inches

They grow quick don't they, mine hit 10" in about 8 months after i got it at 2", it slowed down after that, it was about 11" max by the time i got rid of it.....easily as fast growing as Oscars when fed on Hikaris.

Well I bought the ten inch early this week

The smaller one I got from minnnt around 2 months ago and she has grown about two inches but has coloured up no end
