New Tank, New To Saltwater

Thanks for all the kind words folks. .

It's official I have a messy coral tank. I blame . . . me!! I got some nice small frags and decided to stick them to big rocks - to which I'm running out of room.

Here's the tank pic as of today:

Oh I was able to get some sun polyps fr a local guy here - (for free) They're in bad shape. . but everytime I see some polyps out I feed like crzy. Here's some pics of them:

Hopefully I can get them back on track.

My plans for my nano is. . . to squash it in the next couple months. I've got a 75gal tank in the storage and I'm rounding up the parts to make it le3t. So most of these corals will go in that tank. Hopefully this journal will end in the next couple months. (it's pretty pathetic right now anyway)

WOW GORGEOUS! Ive just went throught the whole thing...Its interesting how it went from a blank canvas to such a beauty

Wow, those polyps are in awful shape, glad you didnt buy them. Good on you for trying though, I dont have enough patience for feeding s many sun polyps, so I havnt bought any. :p

Nice tank though, youve got some nice colours! The putty wont look bad for long, it will colour up with corralline algae soon! :p

Yeh I've feed them like 3x times yesterday. Everytime they have some polyps I turn off all pumps. . .and I lay a tons of mysis on them. But I have to keep watch because the hermits go crzy for the food.

So everytime I see a hermit on them. . I knock them off. So last night. . . when I come back to ck out the polyps, I saw a hermit on them and the hermit saw me and it jumped off the polyps!!! I LMAO. . .

This thread might turn into the "How my sun polyps are doing. . "

Lol, you've got way more patience than I... Couldnt handle target feeding sun polyps, I'm way too lazy for that :D

Your tank is simpley AMAZING! You took your time and now you have a beautiful tank. I envy you, so much that i think i will try my hand at a nano reef.

Well I guess I should update this pathetic nano thread. . :look: But what images. . . of course my Suncorals!!

So last you saw they were at this stage: 10/29/06 - pathetic and sad looking.

12/3/06 - Ah. . .looking a bit better! I think at this point they were trained. I will have to say training them was the hardest part, but once you got them there - it's all down hill ya know!

Sorry for the crappy pics. . . but you kind of get the idea. :fun: I think I've doubled the heads on this colony. I'm super impressed and patted myself on the back

Maybe if I get a chance I'll take some pics of the tank. . . it's almost a year old now. . . .

Great job on the sun coral, way to bring it back fro near death :D. These guys can be tricky, but you've obviously got them down

I'm very jealous of those polyps.

Been looking out for some for ages, but whenever any come up on ebay, I either get sniped at the last minute or forget about the end of the auction so can#t snipe anyone else! :/
