im doing my fishless cycle and i was wondering if i should wait 6+ months before i get a pleco, or are they hardy and would easily survive as long as i take proper care of the water changes and such

what pleco u thinking of getting m8? its always advised 2 wait before adding ...ive never had a problem adding plecs 2 newly cycled tank but i could have just been lucky lol

Yeah, as with all fish some are hardier than others, but in general plecs are hardier than most, but are messier than most too so they will pollute an uncycled tank quicker.

My pleco was put in with my first batch of fish, sure i wasnt very experienced but it worked out for the good:) Depending on your tank size, i would get a rubber lip pleco. They get about 5 inches long and i think look pretty cool :)

these are the ones im interested in getting if can find them lol
they are available but i have to order them from online. and the place they are shipped from is about an hour away with no traffic (they dont have pick up)

ps. all the pictures are from liveaquaria

I'd say planet catfish. Has a huge library of all catfish species, including Lno plecs
