From my first topico:
>I live in Paraguay out in the country side and have had tropical fish for twenty >plus years.
>This afternoon I went out to look for a new river to catch small fish to feed me >Dorado’s as they only eat live fish. I mainly catch Guppies, Buenos Aires Tetras >and Red Eye Tetras as food. Today in a river that is up in the hills I found some >orange Tetras. It color is the same as a gold fish. Never in all the years have I >seen this fish. The river can not be contaminated as it is way out in the country >side.
>How do I go about finding out if it is a new species. I have some photos of them. >If you can help me I will email you a photo of one.
>Hope someone can help me.
Well,,,, we went to the river a covered 2 miles just to find one fish. There are hundreds of fish but not of this one. I now have three of them.
Down stream we found a 12 foot water fall wich enters a bigger river. This river has many predator fish in it so survival rate will be very low for any small fish that go over the edge.
This photo is us when we caught the fish:
Not easy to take photos of fish but here is a side view in net.
Here is the top view.
Sorry,,, did not get the head in but it a nice pic of the fish.
