The other week I found my Bulldog pleco, Derek, had passed on. No idea why, but he hadn't eaten the previous night and didn't seem to get much bigger. It was a real shame as he had become really confident since moving into my larger tank.
Anyway I really wanted another pleco, but one different to Derek, and not a Bristlenose as I'm not a huge fan. We went to Swallow Aquatics last weekend and I fell in love with a Para Pleco - L075. We weren't sure exactly what he was but I am pretty certain he is one.
Got a few pics but they aren't very good as he is still pretty shy.
He hasn't eaten anything the last two occasions I've fed all the other fish, despite the pellets being right by his nose at some points. Any idea on how to get him feeding?
He hasn't got a name yet, was thinking maybe Samson.

coz they no where i put it:)

Well I got him on Sunday, and usually feed my fish every few days so he's had the opportunity to eat twice. Tried algae wafers and Tetra Tabimins and he ignored them. Hopefully he'll eat next time I feed them

Taken from planet catfish
A real omnivore; will eat frozen bloodworm, sinking pellets, flakes and green vegetables. Feed unsettled or new fish at, or just before, night / lights out.

i have 4 L075, all of them eat absolutely anything but courgette is by far the favourite, never seen them refuse anything else though

Very nice fish! Keep on offering a variety of foods and eventually he will eat. Of course, he may be nibbling when it's dark.

He had a bit of an algae wafer tonight but was very slow on the uptake. The rest of the tank were going mad as usual eating and he sat there with a bit of wafer near him and didn't bat an eyelid. Then he was guarding a bit of wafer the otherside of some wood from a barb, but didn't seem too sure how to get to the food he was guarding! He had a little nibble though and I am pretty sure he's been nibbling away at any remnants around the tank. I must say he's settled much quicker than my Bulldog. He doesn't mind you coming right up to the tank and sitting there watching him - he'll be out in full view - and I've only had him a week and a half. My Bulldog took about 6 months before he'd relax and come out feeding openly, even then he was very jumpy.

I recently got a new pleco as well. I added him to the tank and he immediately went to a nook under a piece of driftwood. It's been about 2 weeks now and I rarely see him. Maybe 3 times since I've had him? I worry that he is not eating. I drop an algae wafer in but the other fish get to it first. He likes to attach himself to a piece of driftwood and not move, or do anything, allll day. Oh yeah, I have tried spying on him thinking that maybe he comes out at night. I get the flashlight out and act all sneaky looking for him and what do you know, hes attached to a piece of drftwood, not moving, and not doing anything.
