Ooooohhhh how I love and loath plec shopping at the same time!!

The choice at Maidenhead P'boro was immense as usual and ended up coming away with L-059. I would put the link up to Planet Catfish but my L-059 looks nothing like that at the minute because he hasn't coloured up to full potential. If anybody with an Aqualog takes a look at the vast array of L-059's you will see what I am talking about!! I am hoping mine ends up jet black with a real white-seam on the dorsal fin and the tail like the true White-Seam plec. It was a toss up between the LDA-001 and the White seam but the White seam L-059 just won the day!

I was going to get pics but he didn't look great after a 1 hour+ journey from P'boro so I thought it better just to get him settled in. Now he has done a runner although I can just see his tail sticking out from behind some bogwood.

I was very tempted by the LDA 001 but I now have L-205, L-260, L-059, 1 common spotted BN, 1 Hoplo and 17/18 corys so I am quite bottom heavy as you can see!! I was going to offload the BN but she has such a great character and she is a really nice specimen, I am very proud of how she has turned out. I then decided to go with the L-059 as it is totally different to my other plecs whereas LDA 001 is similar to L-205, both Peckoltia, both similar colours although the markings on LDA 001 are very striking, always reminds me of a tiger!!

I am quite fortunate though to have an L-205 with really distinct markings, I see quite a few that are just a muggy colour with a few spots. Right, I'm going to shut up bigging my plecs up now.................

L059... Blimey. I'd be very surprised if it is - They have probubly ID'd it wrong or bought them in and taken the exporters work for it...
Has it got orange spots?

Get some piccys up :)

I think the ID maybe wrong aswell Russell, mine hasn't got the orange spots but like I said, in Aqualog L-059 has got 8 pictures for it!! Some are labelled L-059A and some L-059B. Of the 8 pics there is in the Aqualog I have I would say there is 4 or 5 different species looking at them. One has the orange spots like you say, looks more like a Golden Nugget, one looks like a proper White-Seam pleco, which is what mine was identified as and one looks like a spotted BN. These bloody plecs can get so confusing! I will try and get a good photo of the book and get it posted so you can see what I mean.

As for gettingpics of the fish himself, it's like bogwood city in my tank and as you can imagine he is just settling in at the minute so chances of seeing him for a pretty picture are quite slim, I'll see what I can do though Russ!!

Originnaly ours were sold as L059's ;)

Still dont know what they are as they are like L183 but without the seams and like L182s but with whit tips and only 5"...

It's fun and games ;)
