new cory owner

Should be fine with your betta. Most corydoras get 3-4", but there still can be some difference depending on which species you have. Post up a pic and we can tell you. Plus you should never keep them in groups smaller than 3. I suggest you go get a couple more to make the one you have now happy.

3" is about right. That's what an aneus would be at. Pygmies and pandas are smaller.

You should keep them in gorups. They are gregarious fish and enjoy the company of other corydoras.

Cories make great betta tankmates. get a group though, or he'll be lonely. :)

size does depends on species but i find that most get to around 2". you can look up the type you have on planetcatfish.com to check how big he'll lget. :)

Well I hope it's a ten gallon+ for several reasons..... One you wil need atleast 3 of them ....... Skunk,"pigmy",and pandas seem to be a tad smaller .... Aenus are hyper and probably good for a begginer like I got the other day (albino) They are very active and havn't eaten one of my fry .... But betta enjoy sitting on the bottom .. a hyper cory would be all over the bettas laying space ALL THE TIME they never stop .....

he's in a 20g, he is pretty zippy, but he doesn't bother anyone. I will get more, but the lfs only had 2, I will get more soon also- here's a pic

if I have to get some more cories with him, would he school with albino or colored cories? the lfs has only one more like him

he *might* shoal with different cories, it would be preferable toget some of his type though. maybe you could ask theh lfs if/when they'll get some more in?
