New Betta To A New Owner

This is what i have just got from the store, a halfmoon.
I was told, its not a common colour, is it true?
I would wish for the tail & fins to be bigger and rounder, will it still grows?

Very nice.....he's what's called a Mustard Gas as far as colouring goes.

If when he flares up his Caudal fin spreads by 180 degrees then he is a halfmoon. If not then he would be a superdelta

Nothing you can do to make him Halfmoon but if you hold a mirror up to him to make him flare, he should open up his caudal for you to see.

There is nothing you can do to develop him into another tail type, but to see what tail type he is you can show a mirror up to him and see what his tail fin spreads like.

Like him for the colour.. still will love him even thoug he is not a HM.
