New Beginnings

Lol. Your computer is even proud and made sure everyone noticed. :p I really like where you are going right now...the hardscape is more apparent, and I can picture a more narrow fern there. When the rotala grows up, it will have a great shape. Too bad on the holes. Its such a fine line with the ferts and co2. Itsseems like theres always flow issues or co2 issues.

Still lookin grt. The pipes hardly show, and wont at all once things cover them more. My bn's could use some.

 Thank you FF! Actually the rotala was grown up but growth stagnated and I noticed that some of the stems were losing their leaves at the bottoms hence the pruning.

It seems that the pieces of tubing are working, however not for the gobies; in 2 out of 3 my loaches have taken up permanent residence. I had bought them extra small to avoid this, but it is not working. Now the only thing I can do (as I want these gobies to breed) is to put them in a different tank where they won't have the competition from the loaches.

I have a 20 gallon long with cardinals, cories and some cpd so I think this will be a good tank to try.

Nice. I have been keeping wide open eyes for some Gobies. I'll have some at some point. Maybe after I move. Are they easy for you to take care of still?

Yes, they are doing really great. The dominant male is beautiful; large and with great colours. All the 3 females try to be around him! But the lack of a cave makes breeding impossible. They are supposed to thrive best on live foods, which I can't give them. However, I give them shrimp which they love and they also go crazy for zucchini.

I noticed that I like in general smaller fishes so these gobies are great for me. The male is now around 4 cm and I don't think he will get much larger.

It is a pity you are living in the US. I am a member of a Canadian forum as well and I already sent 4 gobies to a girl in New Brunswick. If you look on Aquabid under oddballs though, they have them listed regularly. They mostly go under their latin name: Tateurndina ocellicauda.

oh! I wrote it down already. I liked smaller fish too lately. My hubby is wanting a tank for the bedroom  :hey: I guess he's trying to get me in there more. lol Maybe I could set something up with gobies, and microrasboras.

I get the appeal of something less common as well. DO you have any recent pics?

oh really! :grr: I even have a few spare 10g filters, and petco has a $1 per gallon sale :p

Ohhh! nice. :good: I've looked at the gourami's too and never had a chance to have them yet.

I was so looking forward to getting my limonophila and made everything ready for it. Even cleaned the filter! And guess what?! I got a whole bunch of plants, but no limnophila... :/.

I was supposed to get mixed crypts and some limnophila stems and instead I got a lot of vallis, an anubia, duckweed and some large leaved rosette plant of which I don't know whether it is a crypt or an echinodorus. So now I need to go looking for limnophila again and still no plant for the right hand back :-(

ew. Feel ya pain sista. The duckweed will kick your butt {I secretly liked it though} Is the anubia nice?

The duckweed can go into my 20 gallon long where I have a pair of killies; they will appreciate the cover from these 2 T5HO! The anubia has very small leaves; I don't know whether it is a petite version or a 'start up' part. Doesn't really matter; I can put it in my 5 gallon with my bettas.
