Scroll down to the DIY folder on the left, there is a program there where you can put in your tank size, & it gives you a cut list.

If you are looking to build a rack for multiple tanks, let me know. I've built racks for everything from 10 gallon tanks to a 3'x10' rack that holds hundreds of gallons.

Good luck finding actual plans for them online, there aren't many. Most are constructed with an individual aquarist's setup in mind.

If you are looking to do something like this let me know; http://www.angelsonly.com/hatchery.htm I'm pretty sure I can come up with plans for those racks.

If you are looking to do something smaller, take a look through these pics, tell me what size (lxwxh) tanks you have & how many http://www.fishforums.net/content/forum/20.../Fishroom-Tour/

I have a pretty good assortment of racks for 10's, 20's, 29's, 55's, as well as 2.5 & 5 gallon setups. Your physical attributes have to be taken into account when building racks, as well as ceiling height. I'm 6', 215#, someone 5'2" would have trouble with those top tanks, while someone 315# would have trouble squeezing between the rack for lower tanks.

Here's some really craptacular drawings I did some time ago for someone, these will hold three 20 longs or 29's, and are pretty much how most of my racks are built;

They're built with pressure treated 2x4's, & 3" deck screws.

Here's the latest rack, I'm just finishing running electric & air today;

thanks alot mate, my plans are about the same:)

exept i have a room 16 foot by 24 foot and i am going to build racks on the all sides of the walls so that they all run wall to wall :good: i already have this setup like so but not with many racks!

here are the pics of my fish room though like i have said i want to build bigger and better racks to hold more, atm i am mainly using cement blocks for supports and they take up to mutch room :sick: :

I knew I would dig up the plans eventually for those Angels Only racks; http://www.angelsonly.com/Tank_rack.htm

Try to standardize on about 3 or 4 sizes as your main working tanks, and build your racks off of this. Everyone with a lot of tanks has a few oddball sizes kicking around, the better you can standardize the easier it is building an efficient work area. As you can see by the Angels Only site, most of his setup is figured around using 29 gallon tanks. I have mine figured mainly around 29's, with that size footpring I can also load 20 longs, 20 highs, or 15's on the racks. The 55 racks will also hold a pair of 20 highs. The rack above the tubs is being set up for 40 breeders, any 3 foot long tank will fit on there.

With a room that size, consider a row down the middle, as you will have a ton of extra space. Even if you don't set it up right away, plan ahead when you are running electric, air, and any drain or water change setups. Many aquarists with fishrooms, including myself, and especially breeders, like to put the tanks on end, and as you can see from the Angels Only pics, have no problem with leaving ends of tanks unsupported for a few inches. They also have spare tanks if something leaks.

Shop around for lumber, buy a load when it's on sale. Try to find a breeder that is upgrading, or shutting down for used tanks, this is where many of my tanks came from.
