Need Help Asap About My Filter

OK guys i got a brand new filter today has int been used but it decides to be a #28### and not start the model is a R050 ANY HELP ASAP

Okay...I tried researching it to see but only found RO units coming up under that number. Even if I haven't used a filter I can usually figure it out...that's one way I'm sort of handy. But if I can't find it I can't figure it out.

Trust me, using a term and knowing the meaning don't always mean the same thing. I'm a high school science teacher, and if I accepted the "term" as the correct answer all the time, my students wouldn't know any more when they leave my class as when they walk in. Most of them can recite terms and even some definitions, but can't actually apply it to anything.

Many fish stores will tell the person to "cycle" the tank by running it empty for 24 hours before adding fish. That's hardly cycling a tank. That's testing for leaks!
