N3Ont3Tra's 37G Reef Tank Journal

Well, whatever they are, they're pretty cool to watch. :)

Bought some of that new Timora rock from premium Aquatics: 15pounds. Pics when it comes. Then it has to cure and then I'll post more pics when it's in the display.

I love SW tanks and wish i could have one but all my money is invested in my planted tank, but I love your tank and journal I read the whole thing.

LR came today. It's pretty cool. Didn't smell too bad.

Sorry some of the pics are pretty blurry but you get the idea.

Also, I got some paint for the back. It says on the label:
"Krylon" Color Creations
Acrylic Latex Enamel
Gloss Black
Indoor/Outdoor Paint

That will work for painting the back, right?

Ha make sure you paint the outside :hyper: my cousin painted the inside once.. what a dink

Yeah they really do get some great LR. Nice pieces there bro

Live rock's been in for about a week and a half now.. I took the other piece that had all that brown algae on it out. It's now in a rubbermaid bin with a powerhead and heater... except the algae isn't dieing!!! I think it's actually growing.

Anyway, I think the 'scape looks pretty good... it's no longer the two islands like I orginally wanted but it still looks nice. I found three aptaisias in impossible to reach placed on the LR... there's a lot of feather dusters. And a lot of coralline. I also added a serpent star, and as you saw in the pic, an emerald crab. I might be upgrading the lighting with some of my christmas money. Next fish is a flame hawkfish. I don't know what I'm going to do with the shrimp... Also I successfully frogged those two little corals off of the algae rock and they survived. Yay! lol... ummm.... I think that's it for now.

Is the lid on that rubbermaid bin? Maybe put some holes in that bin or cover it with a towel to block out all the light.

Yeah it's covered...
I'm afraid it'll get too hot with a towel over it. There's only a slit where light could get in and the light doesn't touch the rock... I'll just wait a little longer, I guess.

Been a little over two weeks now...
Next fish... flame hawkfish
i might upgrade the lighting with my christmas money. Not that I have any corals yet.
Also one of those corals that i had completely disappeared... no sign of it. :(
