Hi!
I'm brand new to this forum and am looking forward to learning all about fishies.

My wife and I have just started up a 30 gal tank with a 30-60 filter, two mollies and two tetras. It's kinda lonely in there right now but it will become populated. Glad to meet all you folks. I'm from San Antonio, TX.

=) just a note; if it's a male and female Molly you'll probably have fry soon, and possibly a dead female (exhaustion) so check. if one fishie has a flaring tummy-fin and the other has a more pointed, stiff one, it's a male and female. get another girl if that's the case. and the Tetras like to school, so when you're done cycling (i'm just assuming this is what you're doing with these four fish) get some more Tetras so they're happy =)

I dont know what you mean by "cycling" can you explain that to me? Thank you for the other advice. I know that both my wife and I will learn alot here. And, I guess we'll go get some more mollys and tetras at the end of the week.

Hi chut and welcome to the forum.

Cycling is a process that your tank goes through while developing the beneficial bacteria needed to keep it in chemical balance. Here is a link to an article written by one of the forum regulars, Alien Anna, that will explain it to you.

While this is going on, please do not add any more fish.
