My poor babies, two of my girls got sick (they shared a split tank) while I was gone on vacation. I've been trying ever since I got back with all kinds of meds. :/ None were working. :-(

I've made the decision in their best interests (they weren't happy anymore--no more excitment about bloodworms, no more swimming with my finger, etc...) that they needed to be "put down."

I debated on how to do it, and it was just heart breaking. I tried soooo hard not to cry. I saved both those fish: one from an owner who was killing all her fish and the other from near death from fin rot in a store and now I had to let them go. I need some of that clove oil. I don't know where to get it though.

Anyway, I wanted to formally say good bye to my girls Omega and Lil Girl:

Oh Elise, I'm so sorry to hear this. You did all you could. :rip: Lil Girl and Omega.

Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear this.. I know how hard it can be to lose a betta, especially when they need your help to end their suffering :(
I'm assuming the deed has already been done, but incase you need it in the future (God forbid,) clove oil can be found at most health food stores.

THank you for the tip. :/

I dreamt about the girls last night, but it was a happy dream: they and the other bettas I've lost in the past were swimming around us in the air and huge sized and they were all healthy and then they swam up into the sky and became stars. Interesting, huh? It made me feel better.

Very sorry to hear about your girls Elise. No matter how many fish, dogs, cats, etc one loses in a lifetime, it NEVER gets easier. At least you had the guts to realize that they were in pain and needed your help rather then let them suffer. That (along with bringing them home in the first place) was the best thing you could do for them.

I truly believe that dreams are a conduit to our dearly departed. I think your fish were stopping by to thank you and to let you know that they are happy over the rainbow bridge, and that they were welcomed by and are with all your other beloved fishies of days before.
