My Tanks...some Of Them Be Round!

Thanks :D

I have 8 tanks running at the moment. 3 marine reefs (2 nanos and a 155l), 2 coldwater fancy goldfish tanks, 2 puffer tanks and a small community tank

I'll have to put some new photos up soon.

Hi there,

Fabulous tanks.

I really like the look of your revamped 60litre community tank.

Can I ask what type of plants and wood you have in there? Is it just Argos play sand?

Is it just standard lighting and do you use Co2 or liquid plant fertilisers?

Cheers :)

Hello :)

The tank is completely stock apart from the internal filter. I took the Juwel box filter out to give more room :D

No CO2, just one T8 bulb. The wood is standard bog wood with anubias tied to it. Crypts in the foreground and a big of giant valisnera in the background. Oh and those wonderful marimo moss balls

The sand is from Jewsons...silver sand...a big bag for pennies and the same stuff as the argos play sand (which is basically silver sand anyway) :D

Here are some giant gourami for those who're interested at my place of work...they're the size of enormous plates...

As soon as I saw this I thought "that's in a hospital near Hammersmith Apollo"

.....glad you confirmed I was right!

You should see the tank now! It has been taken over by a new maintenace firm and it's totally improved! The water isn't green (uv worked wonders), they've removed over 50% of the rock and the fish and I think it is so much better now! I'll have to take more photos of it actually :D

I was there about 3 years ago I think

oh my goodness, just read through this thread, Jenny your tanks are an inspiration, just amazing !!

I always hated biorbs, but you have changed my mind, you make them look fantastic. You have such a good eye for displaying them.

Makes me want to get a 15 or 30l biorb for shrimps, I was going to get some cherry shrimp soon, now wondering if they 'need' their own biorb lol

It is nice to see someone who makes the small tanks look so great, I only have small tanks myself as I prefer having lots of different fish/layouts and don't have the room for huge tanks, but none of mine are as nice as yours. I was going to upgrade to a 60l tank, but after this thread I can't help but think my heart lies with the little tanks. I have 2 25l bow front tanks, and a 35l arcadia arc still in its box waiting for me to set-up as a fishless cycle. Now I'll be off looking for a biorb for shrimps lol

Why thankyou DB :D

I will give you a little tip about small shrimp in the biorbs. I had some cherry shrimp in a 30L biorb and sadly they got into the filter basket (whether sucked in or not I don't know) and they perished over night :( I successfully had cherry shrimp in my baby biorb when I used sand having taken out the existing filter basket and gone for a small internal filter instead.

Amano shrimp were fine in my biorbs that were unmodified though :D
