My Tank Setup, Dipped My Toe,

You always take great pics Matt. Reminding me I need a more-better digicam :D

i would like to say after reading the whole post. this has to be one of the best reads i have had for some time. it is great to see how you have worked with the tank , and how you have changed it as well.

anyway a great job on a great thread. well done :good:

i am in the middle of my tanks setup at the mo, going for a 120 gal fish only, i only hope it goes as well as yours :)

Been a hard day, didn't get out of the office till 8.00, went and picked up my Girlfriend and Son from there Grans and got home at 9.30 by witch time beer was all I could think of. Then I thought I'd have a play with my new toy. Haven’t got it up and running yet but I can't wait. Got two more Seio M620's comming to get the flow in my tank to a max x62/Hr!!!!!! Should be enough for the SPS I bought Last night. Also Have a Dosing pump on the way to help with the top-off. Got a 20l hex tank with a 400lph on a timer doing one minuet a day = 6l with is ok but 'dumps' it in to quickly so the dosing pump can run a 2min on 10min off cycle throughout the day to give near stable salinity. Then Its time for a Calcium reactor.

Oh! and a bigger tank! soon!! (41x15x20) Volume 202 l./44 gal. (53.36 US gal.)
Probable volume 182 l./40 gal. (48 US gal.)

Well here it is the new MH is up and running. I took out one of the old PC ( white one) and left the actinic and the 50/50 for now. Think I my get another actinic one tho. I've started it outon a 2 hour cycle in the middle of the photo period, this will move to 8-9 hours by the end. the bubble coral at the top right and the Hammer on the left will be moved down a bit and some SPS are on ther way (fri) aswell as 2 new Seios (MP620's on thur) So all thats lef is the CA reactor and to finish the surround. well enough chat on with the pic!!!!

Love it Matt! :good: Going back and reading the first few pages, it really has come along way, and its looking tops! I love the aquascape, pitty mine wont seem to appear like that for me! :p Ohwell!

Watch out, more corralline algae for you!

I may have asked this earlier, but how did you achieve your overflow to the sump, and would you recomend it? Or in hindsight would you have done something different?

Thank Miagi> I would have build an overflow weir. When I get my new tank (comming very soon 2 months)
It will have a interal weir with a durso pipe on it. At the moment its fine, had one Turbo find its way to the sump and one that got caught in the hole witch nealy overflowed to tank! but I was home at the time, Thank god. I've now put on a elbow and pointed it toward the side of the tank witch leaves about 1/2" gap, too small for the turbos now.

Lookin great Matt, love the shadows and the brightness of the new MH setup :D. I agree about the overflow, if I had to do it all over again I would have used a drilled tank with a weir too. An overflow box is a PITA to manage :(
